Gene Roddenberry typed letter signed regarding”Star Trek: The Motion Picture” as it was being filmed. Composed on”Star Trek” letterhead, Roddenberry writes on 11 September 1978 to Jesco von Puttkamer of NASA, in part,”Especially delighted with the last couple of tech advice memos you sent… The only exception is the Vulcan shuttle which we will still send on its way as in script… Thank you for the incredible news clipping about my hiring the FBI to protect STAR TREK and the mind-boggling electronic equipment from NASA, JPL, Boeing, etc. If we have all this stuff, why hasn’t someone told me about it? I supposed it comes under the category of’creative’ news writing. Our closed set policy is resulting in a lot of mystery being built up about our film and I think we can expect some pretty wild rumors over the next year… In addition to working with NASA on”Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, Roddenberry was present at NASA’s 1976 unveiling of the Space Shuttle Enterprise, named after the”Star Trek” spaceship. STAR TREK ORIGINAL SERIES Cast Autographed Signed 11 X 14 COLOR Photo. Autographed by original seven cast members. Includes PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity CERTIFICATION # AE08387. The Photo pictured is the exact one you will receive. I have inspected the photograph and there are imperfections on the top and bottom right hand corners. There is a light bend visible in the picture on the front side but not on the back so its not a bend but it does have a light mark that might make you think it was folded which it was not. THE PHOTOGRAPH otherwise is in excellent condition and the autographs are crisp bright and beautiful. I have included close-up images of all the signatures. If you have any questions regarding this piece or need additional information please dont hesitate to ask! Overall this 11×14 photograph displays very nice and when framed will look beautiful. I never want to. Grade something 20-25 years old MINT but the signatures would be as close to mint as possible and the photograph is in very good condition with light minor wear if looking closely. The one flaw is the top right and other is very minor bottom right corner not being perfect. The majority of our sheet music and memorabilia is from my music store.
