Rare Vintage 1974 Mego Star Trek Mr. Spock 8 Figure Hong Kong TOS Leonard Nimoy from Japan. Mego Corporation launched the 8 action figure line in the early 1970s, targeting TV and comic franchises. Star Trek was chosen due to its growing fanbase following its original run and syndication popularity. Spock was among the first wave of figures, representing Leonard Nimoy’s iconic role in the franchise. Figures were produced in Hong Kong for cost efficiency and mass distribution. The articulation and cloth uniforms were innovative at the time, influencing future action figure design. This prop size replica of the Tricorder from Star Trek, The Next Generation. It was never released for sale but came as part of a TNG DVD promotion. It was released exclusively in Japan under licence from Paramount in 2002. This has been used but has little sign of wear. Some small rub marks but nothing outstanding. Comes with instructions in Japanese (Try Google Lens to translate). It’s very hard to find one of these new and sealed in it the box. THIS IS 20 YEARS OLD SO REMOTE FUNCTION. These are authentic vintage items from a family of collectors who also were connected to the series via a sculptor (Sandra Garrity) who sculpted pieces for the Star Trek miniatures game and chess set.
