I regretted that this card was never produced, essential in a fabric card collection. So i made it, using the last 2×2 inches piece of original blue fabric i had! Dr Leonard McCOY Blue Science TOS Fabric Card as could be from the Archives. Essential in a serious TOS Costume Card Collection! With the very little blue fabric left I have. Only 4 were made! Please note that this card is not production made, but both sides of the card are professionally laser printed on matte paper. Card is 9 x 6.3 cm, with nice recreated background. About the fabric : Not repro! Original fabric used for TOS command uniforms tunics. Know history since the 1987 sale, that use this Fabric. TOS Crew Relic Costume cards, From the Archives (only made some Spock Cards with the Blue). Photo of the card you will receive. No print of the advertisement will be included. You can easily sceen-capt all listing info and/or print to save in your datas. Please not that the bottom cut is not perfectly straight, due to the manual production (photo #8). Use of the Polyester Fabric began in the Third Season. The velour that had been used up to that time, was shrinking every time it was cleaned. So, a more durable Fabric that matched the established colors was found. These pieces were part of that what was left over when the show ceased production in 1969, after a part was utilized for the Phase 2 pre-production uniforms. From Freas website: Frank Kelly Freas (August 27, 1922 – January 2, 2005) was an American science fiction and fantasy artist with a career spanning more than 50 years. He was known as the “Dean of Science Fiction Artists” and he was the second artist inducted by the Science fiction Hall of Fame. Born in Hornell, New York, Freas (pronounced like “freeze”) grew up in Canada. Neither parent had an artistic leaning and Kelly’s craftsmanship came from pure talent and intelligence, not the product of an artistic environment. He entered the United States Army Air Forces right out of high school (Crystal Beach, Ontario, Canada). He flew as camera man for reconnaissance in the south Pacific and painted bomber noses during World War II. He married Pauline (Polly) Bussard in 1952; they had two children, Jacqui and Jerry. Polly died of cancer in January 1987. In 1988 he married (and is survived by) Dr. The fantasy magazine Weird Tales published the first cover art by Freas on it’s November 1950 issue. His second was a year later followed by several Planet Stories and more Weird Tales covers and interior illustrations for three Gnome Press books in 1952. With his illustration career underway, he continued to devise unique and imaginative concepts for other fantasy and science fiction magazines of that period. In a field where airbrushing is common practice paintings by Freas are notable for his use of bold brush strokes, and a study of his work reveals his experimentation with a wide variety of tools and techniques. Oer the next five decades, he created covers for hundreds of books and magazines (and much more interior artwork), notably Astounding Science fiction both before and after its title change to Analog – indeed, from 1953 to 2003. He started at Mad magazine in in February 1957 and by July 1958 was the magazine’s new cover artist; he painted most of its covers until October 1962 featuring the iconic character, Alfred E. He also created covers for DAW, Signet, Ballentine Books, Avon, BAEN Books, all 58 Laser Books (which are ow collector’s items), and over 90 covers for Ace books alone. He was artist and editor with Polly Freas for the first ten Starblaze books. Freas also designed the mission patch and painted posters for Skylab I; comic book covers; the covers of the GURPS world books Lensman and Planet Krishna; and more than 500 saints’ portraits for the Franciscans executed simultaneously with his portraits of Alfred E. He was very active in gaming and medical illustration. His cover of Queen’s album News of the World (1977) was a pastiche of his October 1953 cover illustration for Tom Godwin’s “The Gulf Between” for Astounding Science Fiction.

Up for sale is a “Science” or “Vulcan Medical Scanner” as seen in the TV Series, Star Trek. It was originally used by Dr. M’Benga to treat Spock who had been wounded while visiting a planet in the episode, A Private Little War. It was also used by Dr. Daystrom to scan computer equipment in the episode, The Ultimate Computer and is my favorite scene. The scanner is machined from aluminum based on rare, archival photos along with the same model and type of switches used on the original, which are now hard to find. The scanner runs on a RGB LED which pulsates and twinkles randomly (see video). The LED uses new technology randomly displaying up to 7 different color combinations including purple. These new scanners are now less than 3 ounces in weight! This version of the scanner includes a sound card. The sound is controlled by one switch, while the other switch controls the lights. A single cell 3v battery comes pre-installed so it’s ready for use. Also included is a set of instructions on how to replace the battery along with battery specifications. This prop is from a short run and I don’t expect to have these available for long, so get yours while I still have them! All you need to do is use clear tape on back side as i have done and ready to add to light box, not included. So dont lose your chance. I always send a blueprint-drawing on how to make lightbox easy!
