A handmade one of a kind 1960s 14K yellow and white gold modernist brooch. This stunning original mid century pin is completely handmade. The workmanship is exceptional. The design consists of interlocking folded yellow gold and white gold hexagons set with clusters of fine white sparkling diamonds. It is very reminiscent of science fiction movies- the geometry of this piece is unique and very beautiful. On the reverse it is marked “14K ITALY”. It weighs approximately 6.55 grams. The pin secures with a safety clasp. Each diamond has been set by hand not cast in place as you see with jewelry made today. There are 11 3 point VS clarity F color diamond accents with a total diamond weight of 33 points. The large diamond set at the top of the gold brooch is an early old European cut SI2 in clarity and G/H in color. It measures 4.1mm x4.0mm x 2.7mm and weighs 28 points as estimated in the setting. The total diamond weight here is 0.61 carats. It measures 1 1/2 inches from side to side and from top to bottom approximately (38mm x 38mm).
