Passed in Los Angeles, California in 2003. “Walter Matthew “Matt Jefferies (August 12, 1921 July 21, 2003). Was an American aviation and mechanical artist, set designer, and writer. He is best known for his work on the original Star Trek television serie s , where he designed many of the sets and props, including the original Starship Enterprise, and the bridge and sick bay. He stayed on as art director for the three-season duration of the series, listed as Walter M. Jefferies in the credits. His work on Star Trek earned Jefferies a 1969 Emmy award nomination, as well as a retrospective 2000 Shooting Star Award. While his designs of the Enterprise and the bridge were usually, and equally easily, regarded as his most signature contributions, the majority of his work was actually taken up by designing the sets of the series. 24.75×28.75 framed, aprox.
