Up for sale is a museum quality replica of the Spectrum Analyzer. Tool from Star Trek (Original Series). This prop was featured in the episode “The Naked Time”, also appearing in “The Enemy WIthin” and The Doomsday Machine. The show prop was made from a modified (painted) Nuclear Chicago “Cutie Pie” Model 2586 radiation detector, made in 1957. They are extremely rare and almost impossible to find now. This is a very faithful replica of that prop, right down to the knobs and stickers. This was an actual museum piece, acquired from James Cawley at the Star Trek Tour in Ticonderoga, NY. The last picture shows this replica next to the real thing. These extremely well-made replicas were acquired from an expert propmaker many years ago. It was a very limited run. They were NOT 3D printed, they were made long before 3D printers were even a thing. The body is either metal or cast resin. It is heavy like the original radiation detector, with switches that actually turn, an accurate meter, and aluminum parts. The size and shape is spot on to the original, leading me to believe that this was cast from an original. This item will be packaged like eggs to arrive to you in pictured condition.
