This figure was manufactured by MEGO under license from Paramount Pictures Corporation and is item number 51200/2. This figure is brand new, on an unpunched card, in near minr + or better condition. The card is still stiff, the colors vibrant and the corners are perfect. The surface of the backing board is bright and shiny and shows only slight warpage from age (at where the bubble attaches to the card). The bubble is very clear. Please take a close look at the picture and note the clarity, and perfect edges. For a figure that is over 40 years old, this figure is in remarkable condition and reflects the aging effects of cardboard stored in a factory case over that time. This this figure was from an original factory case and has been stored in same for 44 years and has not been in any light until this listing. MEGO figures in this condition are impossible to find due to the manufacturing methods and materials used in toy making 40 years ago. This figure was make in Hong Kong in 1974 and the cardboard does not appear to have any of the modern day finish nor surface coating that protect new figure cards. Please note the unpunched condition of the card. At the factory the cards were punched or cut from the front to the back leaving a slight burr on the back side of the card. The burrs from the original manufacturing are still on the card. The front of the card has the slight gentle rounding effect on the edges from the punch card operation. The overall card is very stiff and shows a very gentle wave in the cardboard where the bubble was pressed onto the card. The bubble is completely clear without any trace of discolor. At the top of the card the bubble covers about half of the punch hole if the punch were to be removed. This figure could not be punched without damaging the bubble. The edges of the card were unfinished and the card was made of many thin sheet into a composite sheet. The slighest bit of moisture, bump, drop etc would start the damage on nthe edges etc. Imagine that this figure just came off the factory floor. NOTE: This Spock figure has its right leg detached from the body and must have happened during manufacturing as the item is factory sealed and the bubble has never been removed from the card.
